We had our first camp for almost 2 years last weekend. 9 scouts and 1 explorer plus 2 leaders went to Spitewinter Campsite (http://spitewinter.co.uk/) to have what was a first scout camp for 8 scouts and 1 scout leader from 6th Eckington Scouts.. The site was excellent and even with Covid-19 restrictions there was plenty to do. There are so many wooded areas that there plenty of space to keep cool and get shade.
Activities ranged from scavenger hunts to just enjoying a games area around the scout tents area.
The scouts proved to be excellent cooks too…
Anyone for chilli?

Breakfast is always the best meal of the day… and sets you up for den building; water games; scavenger hunts and entertainment rehearsals…..
And finally, a quick group photo:

We were also joined by some beavers on Saturday afternoon….
It was great to have the beavers come along to the scout camp for their picnic lunch and an afternoon of activities. This included a woodland scavenger hunt, followed by modelling the solar system with fruit and veg (they knew so much!) and a water fight with the scouts.
