The Young Leaders (Boscage ESU) were challenged to organise and run an adventure camp for scouts and they certainly delivered an engaging and fun weekend.
We arrived at Walesby Scout Camp https://www.walesbyforest.org.uk/ on Friday and set up camp with the scouts. Once tents were up, the Young Leaders organised a wide game before bringing the troop together for supper. Lights out 11pm.
Saturday was an early start with the breakfast crew getting up at 7am to get breakfast ready. Activities started at 9am so there was much to do. Split into two teams they had a range of activities that weekend from 3G swing to Canadian canoeing. The evening required the patrols – Eagle, Fox, Kestrel and Cobra to devise, shop and create their dinner over a camp fire. Most of the scouts went to the disco that evening.
We also awarded several badges at the end of the camp including a Chief Scout Gold Award!
The camp promised to be an adventure and it certainly delivered. Well done Boscage Explorer Unit.
